According to a report by the portal CnEVPost, Shen Ziyu, CEO of Polestar China, made the announcement at an event. Polestar aims to make charging widely available in China through its own devices and access to third-party devices. According to Ziyu, Polestar aims to build 60 of its own charging stations by the first quarter of 2024 and provide access to more than 550,000 charging stations from third-party providers – including Tesla’s Superchargers.

SAIC-GM also entered into such a cooperation with Tesla in China a few days ago. In North America, Polestar – like many other electric car manufacturers – cooperates with Tesla to gain access to the Supercharger network there. Polestar will install the Tesla charging port in its electric cars for the North American market from 2025.

Polestar currently manufactures exclusively in China. Just this week, the manufacturer announced that the first series-produced Polestar 4 has now rolled off the production line at the Geely plant in Hangzhou in the Chinese province of Zhejiang. The first deliveries within China are scheduled to follow before the end of the year.
