Nissan cuts Ariya prices in the UK
Nissan UK has reduced the pricing of its fully-electric Ariya and introduced a new entry-level model, bringing the starting price of the electric SUV down to 39,645 pounds.
In addition to the new model introduction, all existing 63kWh Ariya derivatives have been reduced by 3,000 pounds and all 87kWh variants by 3,750 pounds as of 1st August 2023. The Nissan Ariya lineup in the UK now starts at the above-mentioned 39,645 pounds for the new Ariya Engage 2WD, which is available in both 63kWh and 87kWh battery sizes. The range tops out with the Evolve+ e-4ORCE version, priced from £59,025.
In terms of technical specifications, the front-wheel drive Ariya Engage is available with two battery sizes (63 and 87 kWh). The smaller battery version has a WTLP range of 404 kilometres, while the model with an 87 kWh battery and 178 kW front-wheel drive can get as far as 536 kilometres on one charge. More realistic range figures for this drive combination can be found in our drive report on the Nissan Ariya.
In July, Nissan introduced a subscription service in the UK for three of their models, namely the Leaf, Ariya and Qashqai. Furthermore, Nissan had recently relaunched the Ariya in Europe with two new models announced in March, although the company had revealed that it was behind on production for the Ariya just weeks before. A recall also had to take place for the Ariya in the USA in March, making it a rather challenging month for the Japanese car manufacturer. In February, the model had also seen a major price cut in China, following a pricing spat between manufacturers launched by Tesla cutting prices in January.
