The new service allows customers to pay as they go and is available for the MD Electric, which the company launched earlier this year. The subscription bundles miles driven, “charging, applicable incentives, physical damage insurance and maintenance costs” in a single monthly payment. The goal is to make it easier for fleet operators to test or switch to electric vehicles without having to invest upfront.

The subscription runs for a minimum of three years and can be extended to a maximum of six years, Mack Truck writes.

Along with the ElectriFi Subscription option, Mack Financial Services also offers ElectriFi Infrastructure and ElectriFi Lease. In terms of infrastructure, Mack will aid customers in setting up infrastructure and advise on the proper hardware and software, as well as support the customer in terms of installation.

“Mack Trucks is a leader in electrification, and we remain committed to ensuring customers have reliable, durable electric vehicles and the support necessary to operate them,” said Jonathan Randall, president of Mack Trucks North America. “Together with Mack Financial Services, we developed this unique program to assist in the deployment of BEVs through a solution that gives customers peace of mind. Customers can run electric trucks knowing that Mack and Mack Financial Services are standing behind them and the product.”

Mack introduced the Mack MD Electric in March 2023 and opened orders in July 2023. It is an offshoot of the diesel-powered version introduced in 2020. Both the Class 6 and the Class 7 variants produce up to 194 kW and come with two battery options: The NMC cell batteries offer 150 or 240 kWh capacity and provide ranges of 150 and 230 miles (approximately 240 and 37MD Electric and all on-board accessories are powered by nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) oxide lithium-ion batteries, in either a 150 kWh or a 240 kWh configuration.
